Sazerac Rye →
An American Rye, meaning it’s mash is at least 51% rye.  Beautiful amber color.  Nice distinct vanilla, peppery smell with hint of clove.  Warm spice to taste with a bit of sweetness.  Finish has a pleasant warm journey down, lingering a bit in the back of the throat. Enjoyed @ Alembic 1.24.10

Basil Hayden →
Very smooth bourbon with tones of oak and walnut.  A nice option for those who want a clean whiskey with low bite.  Part of the Jim Beam family. Enjoyed @ Whiskey Thieves 1.17.2010 *SEWC neat-worthy (by Dot, Shirley, & Rosie)

High rye content for a bourbon (30%).  Hints of vanilla & honey over notes of oak and bit of spice.  A slight bite of alcohol hits the back of the throat, but goes down smooth. Enjoyed @ Whiskey Tavern 1.17.2010 *SEWC neat-worthy (by Hecortine, Olga, & Helen)
